Challenging Behavior Services

CHALLENGING BEHAVIOR SERVICES

These services are provided to individuals in long-term care or independent living who present behavioral challenges which limit their potential for otherwise residing in lower levels of care. Services are provided in a supported, respectful environment for an individual to learn how to get their needs met without resorting to behaviors that have a negative impact on their social, occupational or educational functioning. The services are designed to help facilitate or support inclusion in the community with a goal of addressing challenging behaviors before they escalate. Consultation may be in home, or in common community settings that the person may need to navigate. Training, consultation and skills trainings can also be provided to the individual’s family, as well as informal and formal supports.
How to refer to CB Services: Contact your local Home and Community Services (HCS) or Aging and Long-Term Care (ALTC) Social Worker for eligibility under RCL, WA Roads, or CFC+COPES funding.
